Move for 60
4am Thu 8 Oct to 4pm Sat 10 Oct, 2026. 60 hours. One 1km loop. A tent that never empties. We never run alone.
What is Move for 60
Starting: 4am Thursday 8 October
Running: Continuous 1km loops
From: Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club
Until: 4pm Saturday 10 October
For: Mental health awareness
Why Move for 60
More than a run.
Around the world, someone takes their own life roughly every hour, and men make up the majority of those deaths. Move for 60 is Vipers Run Club’s way of responding: 60 hours of continuous movement, together, in support of Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli.
60hrs: continuous movement
1km: Queenscliff to North Steyne loop
$603k+: raised by Vipers since we began
How it works
Run it, or hold the tent.
The Running
Vipers take turns running, jogging or walking a 1km loop, one hour at a time (or longer, if you like). We move at the pace of the slowest person, so anyone can join in.
The Tent
At least two Vipers staff the tent at all times, day and night, for the full 60 hours. It’s where runners check in, and where the community gathers to talk and support each other.
The best time to run is in the wee hours of the night. The best time to lean in is whenever someone’s alone at the tent.

FAQ
Do I need to be a Vipers member?
To sign up on the running roster, yes. Everyone is welcome to come along, support and experience the atmosphere regardless.
How does the event work?
The Running: Sign up for a minimum of one hour, more if you want (Vipers have run marathons and further in past years). Run, jog or walk, at whatever pace works for you; we go at the pace of the slowest person in the group. It’s not about speed or distance, just keeping the baton moving. No one has ever run the full 60 hours!
The Tent: We need at least two Vipers in the tent at all times across the 60 hours. The tent team makes sure runners show up and are ready, steps in if someone’s running late, and welcomes Vipers, families and the wider community. This is where Vipers shows what it’s really about, start conversations, look after people, make people feel welcome.
You can sign up for running, tent shifts, or both, just make sure your commitments don’t overlap. Find the sign-up link in the Vipers Running Club Community WhatsApp channel.
Where do I check my running or tent shift time?
You can check the timetable here. Timetable link coming soon.
Who do I contact if I’m no longer available?
Contact your tent shift leader, listed on the timetable.
When can I come down to run or support?
Any day, any time. The tent is always open and everyone’s welcome.
Is Move for 60 a fundraising event?
Fundraising is part of it, but it isn’t why we created it. Move for 60 started as a way to bring Vipers together for 60 hours and show the best of our community, and last year it grew into something big enough to win Community Event of the Year at the Northern Beaches Australia Day Awards.
This year we’ve deliberately scaled it back to refocus on community. We’re still proud to support Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli, through:
Move for 60 T-shirts (all profits to Lifeline)
Little Italy Coffee Van onsite (all proceeds to Lifeline)
A Lifeline representative present during the event
A QR code for direct donations
Fundraising matters, but the heart of Move for 60 is Vipers, together, for 60 hours.
Where do I donate to Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli?

How to talk about Lifeline
We’re supporting Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli because we’re choosing to have an impact on our local community.
Every 24 seconds, a person in Australia reaches out to Lifeline for help.
Each year over 1,000,000 calls for help are made to Lifeline, each one costing $39 to answer.
75% of the people who take their own life are male, but only 25% of the calls to Lifeline for help are male.
This year, Vipers Run Club is running continuously for 60 hours, proudly supporting Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli and our local community. Keep the phones running. Donate to our Move for 60 campaign.
